Water Flushing Program
City Adds Saturdays To Water Main Flushing Schedule
April 26, 2019 - The City of Midland began its annual water main flushing program Monday, March 25. Due to the inconsistent spring weather and a heavy spring workload, Water Distribution crews will begin flushing on Saturdays to complete the spring flushing schedule. Saturday flushing will be in addition to the regular weekday schedule and will start on Saturday, April 27. Flushing on Saturdays will continue until the flushing cycle is complete.
Water main flushing sometimes results in discolored water. While not harmful, tap water may appear orange in color for 5 to 15 minutes. Residents should avoid doing laundry while their water is discolored.
The City’s annual maintenance program helps ensure a high level of water quality by preventing corrosion and maintaining a proper disinfection residual.
Thank you for your patience during the flushing process. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the City of Midland Water Distribution office at 989-837-6950 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
