Permit Expiration Dates
Projects must be completed before the permit(s) issued for them expire. The following permits are good for 180 days from the date of issuance or from the last inspection:
- Building
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Mechanical
- Fence
- Mobile home
- Grading
- Zoning compliance
Signs must be installed within 60 days from the date of issuance of the permit. Soil erosion and sedimentation control permits are good for one year.
Time Limitation of Application
An application for a permit for any proposed work will be thought to have been abandoned 180 days after the date of filing, unless the application has been pursued in good faith or a permit has been insured; except that the building official is authorized to grant one or more extensions of time for additional periods not exceeding 90 days each. The extension must be requested in writing, and justifiable cause demonstrated.
