PARKS POSITIONS
PARKS MOBILE RANGER
Organized and self-directed with an eye for details? Parks Mobile Rangers are responsible for the security and cleanliness of parks as well as set up and clean up of special events throughout the year. Rangers plan out their day based on events.
MOWING CREW
Ready to work outdoors? Spend your day beautifying our parks and open spaces using mowers, whips and other small tools.
PARK ATTENDANT
Manage a Park! Park Attendants are responsible for the maintenance, light equipment operation and custodial duties of 3 major parks in Midland.
FORESTRY CREW
Work for the city of trees! Crew members will work with City Arborists removing and pruning trees. Will also operate forestry equipment. Physically demanding.
BALL DIAMOND MAINTENANCE
Is softball your thing? Crews maintain infields and outfields of the 19 softball diamonds in Midland.
HORTICULTURE CREW
Make Midland beautiful! Work on a large crew to maintain the landscaped areas of the city, including Midland Blooms!
CEMETERY CREW
Ready for an all-around outdoor experience? Cemetery crews maintain the cemetery grounds including operating equipment and assisting with burials.
RECREATION POSITIONS
LIFEGUARD
Are you confident in the water? Ensure patron safety at Plymouth Pool by supervising swimmers and enforcing pool rules. Staff must be at least 15 and possess Lifeguard Certification from the American Red Cross.
NEW! SWIM LESSON INSTRUCTOR
This is a new position starting in 2023. Swim Lesson Instructors will be responsible for running the swim lesson program throughout the season, which occurs for 8-weeks throughout the summer. Must be excited and enthusiastic to teach new swimming skills to youth age 3-14. Staff do not need an extensive background in swim but should have a desire to learn an established swim lesson curriculum. These positions do NOT need to be lifeguard certified. Staff must be at least 15.
POOL FRONT DESK STAFF
Are you customer service savvy? Spend your summer at the pool taking money and assisting patrons! Must be 15 or older and be able to effectively communicate with the public and manage conflict.
LIFETIME EDUCATION & ACTIVITIES PROGRAM (LEAP) STAFF
Want to get paid for having fun? Spend your summer weeknights working with adults with disabilities in the Lifetime Education and Activities Program. *This is an evening position.
RECREATION ATTENDANT
Spend your nights under the lights! Recreation Attendants assist with the softball and beach volleyball program. *This is an evening position.
NEW! REDCOATS COMPLEX ATTENDANT
The Redcoats Complex Attendant will be responsible for the custodial duties, parks maintenance and lawn maintenance of Redcoats Complex. This position is flexible, but staff will be required to work large pre-scheduled tournaments on weekends.
NEW! BEACH VOLLEYBALL ATTENDANT
Love volleyball? Spend your nights on the court, monitoring games, working with referees and players and taking scores. *This is an evening position.
NEW! MIRACLE FIELD ATTENDANT
The Miracle Field opened in 2022 and is a hit! Spend your spring or fall working with kids and adults who have a disability. Sports include baseball, wiffle ball, kickball and more! *This position requires staff to work Saturdays.
NEW! WALK MIDLAND WALKING PROGRAM LEADER
Walk Midland is a community walking program that promotes walkers to walk two miles at pre-schedules sites around the City. Walks will take place on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings for approximately 1.5 hours from June-August.
CITY FOREST LABORERS (WINTER)
Be where the fun is! Spend your winter weekends at City Forest working concessions or the toboggan runs!
