Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational
The inaugural Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational will take place July 15-20, 2019 at the Midland Country Club. This event, an LPGA tour tournament, will bring 144 of the world’s best female golfers, national media outlets including ESPN and The Golf Channel, and an estimated 30,000+ spectators to Midland during the one-week event.
This page contains information regarding road closures, parking restrictions, ordinance information, and other relevant details for City of Midland residents and out-of-town guests as it relates to this event. Please note: This event is not sponsored by or coordinated by the City of Midland.

Parking and Road Restrictions
To accommodate smooth traffic flow, safety concerns, and several add-on events related to the Dow GLBI, parking and road restrictions will be in place in some areas of the city. See below for more details and maps outlining these closures.
Eat Great Food Festival
The Eat Great Food Festival will take place in Downtown Midland on July 14 and 15 from 5-9 p.m. both days. The festival takes place on Main Street and will feature food and beverage vendors from all over the Great Lakes Bay region.
The following roads will be closed from Friday, July 12 at 5 p.m. to Tuesday, July 16 at 5 p.m. to accommodate this event:
- Main Street from Gordon to Rodd
- Ashman Street from Larkin to Ann
- McDonald Street from Larkin to Ann

Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational
To accommodate the Dow GLBI event, parking and roadway restrictions will be in place throughout the tournament. Traffic is expected to be heavy in the areas surrounding the Midland Country Club and Currie Municipal Golf Course, so residents who do not live in these areas or are not attending the event are encouraged to avoid these areas if possible.
The following restrictions will be in place from Monday, July 15 at 6 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, July 20:
Parking restricted on both sides of the street:
- W. St. Andrews Road from Eastman Avenue to Saginaw Road
- W. Sugnet Road from Eastman to Saginaw
- Hillcrest Road from Sugnet to Saginaw
- Dyckman Road from Sugnet to Clover Lane
- Noeske Street from Balfour Street to W. St. Andrews
- W. Nelson Street from Balfour to W. St. Andrews
- Crane Court from Eastman to end of court
- Hill Court from W. St. Andrews to end of court
Parking restricted on one side of the street:
- Helen Street from W. St. Andrews to Noeske (no parking on north side)
- Holyrood Street from Helen to Noeske (no parking on east side)
Road closures:
- Westbound lane of W. St. Andrews closed to thru traffic from Noeske to the entrance of the Midland Country Club ( designated bus traffic only).
- No stopping, standing, or parking on W. St. Andrews in front of the Midland Country Club.
Traffic is expected to be heavy in the areas surrounding the Midland Country Club and Currie Municipal Golf Course, so residents who do not live in these areas or are not attending the event are encouraged to avoid these areas if possible.

We're excited to host an LPGA tour event - the first of its kind in our community! To celebrate and make the players and spectators feel welcome, the Downtown Development Authority has several golf-themed vents and activities planned throughout the summer.
Tee'd Up Downtown
After a two-year hiatus, the Downtown Midland Summer Sculpture Series is back FORE! a “tee’d up” summer event season that will be anything but par for the course! Tee’d Up offers an artistic look at the traditional golf ball on a tee. Enjoy the work of 18 talented local artists as they turn Downtown Midland into the most interesting course in the country.

Mini Golf on Main
Main Street turns into an 18-hold mini golf course during Mini Golf on Main Wednesday, July 10 through Saturday, July 13. This free event allows guests of all ages to test their skill at putting greens located throughout Downtown Midland. Golfers can enter their completed scorecard for a chance to win 2 tickets to the Eat Great Food Festival.
