Law Enforcement Duties

The Midland Police Department's Patrol Division is responsible for law enforcement duties that include serving warrants, traffic services, crime prevention, and patrolling Midland streets and neighborhoods.

In a single shift, a patrol officer will provide a variety of services to the citizens of Midland. In addition, patrol officers must keep up ever-changing technology and law enforcement methods.

The Patrol Division responds to calls for service and patrols more than 36 square miles within the city limits.

Midland residential population is approximately 42,000. That number easily grows by more than 10,000 during the daytime hours when people work, visit, and play in Midland.
