The Midland Water Reclamation Facility, in accordance with State law, is a receiving facility for domestic sewage from residences in Midland County. Licensed septage haulers may dispose of domestic sewage at the Water Reclamation Facility, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on weekends and holidays. The City reserves the right to deny access at times of wet weather or other unforeseeable circumstances.
Registering with the Facility
All users of the hauled waste disposal site must fill out a Waste Disposal Permit Registration (PDF) form, which will authorize your company to purchase Waste Disposal Permits for discharging hauled waste at the treatment plant.
Users must also read the "Operating Plan for Accepting Domestic Septage (PDF)" document for information on what is required to dispose of domestic waste at the facility, such as:
- A laboratory analysis, when required, as determined by staff
- Licenses issued by the State of Michigan
- Proof of insurance
- Compliance with federal, state and local laws, ordinances and regulations for safety in disposing of septage
- Following rules of use, as established by the Water Reclamation Facility
This document should also be signed, then returned to the Midland Water Reclamation Facility along with the Waste Disposal Permit Registration (PDF) form.
Hard copies of both documents can also be requested from the Water Reclamation Facility by calling the office at 989-837-3500.
