Planning
The City’s Planning Department is dedicated to providing leadership in achieving the public’s vision of an ideal community. This is accomplished through the department’s responsibilities, which include:
- Administering City duties with respect to the Federal Flood Insurance Program
- Assisting boards and commissions involved in planning / development
- Assisting other City departments, governmental agencies, and the public on planning / community development matters
- Coordinating development activities affecting city growth
- Establishing community development objectives
- Planning, administration, and implementation of the Community Development Block Grant program
- Preparing development plans and programs
- Researching and monitoring growth and development within Midland
- Reviewing and reporting on development proposals that affect growth
