A hold allows a person to request material that is either currently checked out or owned by another library.
Request items using the following resources:
Local Catalog Place a hold at the Reference Desk (837-3449) or by using the online catalog. Locate your item and click on "Place a hold." Enter your library card number and PIN, usually the last 4 numbers of your phone number. Cost for placing a hold is 25¢, collected when you pick up your item. You will be notified by phone, email, or text when the item is at the library and waiting for you.
MeLCat If your item isn't available in our catalog, try searching in MeLCat, a Michigan-wide loaning service that includes both public and university libraries. If the item status is listed as "Available," request the item by choosing "Get this from MeLCat." (You can only request items that are currently checked in.) You will be notified by email or letter when the item is at the library and waiting for you.
If you can't find what you are looking for, call the Library Reference Desk at 837-3449 for assistance.
