Read a book, submit an entry, and win great prizes


Prizes are $10 gift certificates to local businesses:

Participating in this year’s summer reading program is fun and easy, and of course, there are always great prizes! For each book read or listened to, fill out an entry form. Return entry forms to the Reference Desk or submit them online for a chance to win gift certificates from local businesses.

We also have a bonus challenge this year. Complete activities on the bonus card for a chance to win a grand prize at the end of the program. Check back for details.

Earn one entry for every activity you complete!

1. Complete one or more activities:

  • Check out and listen to a "Blind Date with a CD" disc from the display in the Library.

  • Reread a book that made your heart sing the first time you read it.

  • Attend a Library program, on your own or with family.

  • Read the first book in a series. *

  • Write a note to someone telling them how they ROCK!

  • Read a book from the PBS "Great American Read" list. *

  • Visit a park or natural area and spend some time listening to the music of nature.

  • Take a selfie with a book you like, post it to social media, and tag us. (@gracedowlibrary on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest)

  • Check out a CD from the Library by an artist you've never listened to before.

  • Sing a song (in the shower counts!)

  • Ask someone to tell you about their favorite music.

  • Read a book where music plays a part in the story. *

  • Read a biography about a musician, dancer, composer, or band. *

  • Attend a music event. (Tunes by the Tridge, Midland Community Band, or your choices!)
