Outer Space Escape Rooms
Thursday June 20
12:00 pm–7:00 pm in the Conference Rooms

Use your skills to solve an out-of-this-world problem and beat the clock. Each group of 2-5 people will have 30 minutes to solve the puzzles and escape the room. Teams must include one member 16 or older.  Call the Reference Desk Staff at 989-837- 3449 to register your team starting June 10.

MI Notable Author: Anna Clark
Thursday June 20

2019 Michigan Notable Book author Anna Clark will be at the library to discuss her book
The Poisoned City: Flint’s Water and the American Urban Tragedy

Her book was chosen as one of 20 outstanding works of fiction or nonfiction written about Michigan or by a Michigan author and published in the previous calendar year. It’s also won numerous additional awards for excellence in nonfiction writing.

She’ll discuss the people and events that took place leading up to the discovery of dangerous lead levels flowing through outdated and untreated pipes effectively poisoning a whole town.  She’ll recount stories of concerned and outraged residents who just wanted answers and couldn’t find anyone to provide them. And stories of misleading reporting from trusted government agencies.  

The book is currently available to checkout at the library.  You can also find it in eBook and digital audiobook.

Yoga 101

Have you been wanting to try a Yoga class?
Come to our Yoga 101 class designed to introduce you to the practice. Certified Yoga Instructor, Kelly Jeska, will explain the benefits of regular yoga practice and then you’ll be able to try it yourself. If you have a mat please bring one as supplies are limited.

NASA Speaker: Dale Force

NASA Electronics Engineer, Dale Force, will be at the library to give an entertaining and informational talk. There will be a question and answer session following the presentation.

Trivia Night: Outer Space Movies
