Take a step towards better health with the annual Walk Midland program.
The program hosts two-mile walks at various locations in Midland. New in 2014, City Forest has been added as a site on Monday nights. Walks are free of charge and take place on Mondays at City Forest (meet at the trail head); Tuesdays at Stratford Park (meet near the beach volleyball courts); Wednesdays at Chippewa Nature Center (meet at the pavilion); Thursdays at MidMichigan Medical Center’s Wellness Trail (meet at the corner of Wellness Dr. and McCandless); and Sundays at the Tridge/Farmers Market area.
All walks begin at 6 p.m. with representatives from sponsoring organizations leading the walks.
Each time walkers participate, they will be registered in a drawing for a free t-shirt. In addition, there will be a drawing on July 25 for a grand prize trip for two to the Jazzy Walk Weekend at Mackinac Island’s Grand Hotel over the Labor Day weekend, which includes a walk across the Mackinac Bridge during the Governor’s Walk.
Walk Michigan is sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, Chippewa Nature Center, and MidMichigan Medical Center–Midland.
