[ARCHIVED] Dig In Midland Project to Open Next Block, Move into Phase III

August 31, 2017 – Progress on the Dig In Midland streetscape project continues to move along as anticipated, with one more block opening to traffic on Friday and the final two blocks closing for construction on Tuesday.

Main Street from Ashman to Gordon Street will be open to vehicle traffic and parking by the end of the day on Friday, September 1. The Gordon Street intersection with Main Street will also be open to through traffic at that time.

Beginning Tuesday, September 5, Main Street will be closed from Rodd Street to Cronkright Street to begin Phase III of construction. The intersections of Main with Rodd and Townsend will also be closed.

Residents of Riverside Place should access the building's rear parking area and drop-off zone by taking Gordon, McDonald, or Ashman Streets to Ann Street. Rodd Street will be closed from Ann to Main Street. Residents' visitors are recommended to park on Rodd, Townsend, or Cronkright before Main, in the Farmers Market area, or in one of the public parking lots. Free parking is also available in the Larkin Parking Ramp on Townsend Street after 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends. Both residents and guests will have front sidewalk access to the building until further notice.

Motorists are reminded to use Rodd Street to Indian Street to Jerome Street to access M-20 from downtown while Main Street is closed to Jerome Street. Motorists using Larkin Street to access M-20 are experiencing long wait times.
