[ARCHIVED] 2018 Adult Battle of the Books Registration Now Open

January 5, 2018 – The fourth annual Adult Battle of the Books is fast approaching. Registration has begun for teams who want to participate in the Battle of the Books for Adults.  We have space for 10 teams, with 3-5 players per team.

The Battle will take place on Saturday, April 14 at 7:00 p.m.  This fun competition requires contestants to read five specific books before the battle. Teams will answer trivia questions about the books.  

The 2018 Adult Battle of the Books Reading List includes:     

  • Can’t We Talk About Something More Pleasant? by Roz Chast
  • The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by Phaedra Patrick
  • The Last Days of Night by Graham Moore
  • The Tiger’s Wife by Téa Obrecht
  • Uprooted by Naomi Novik                  

The books are available for checkout at the Library.

The rules, official entry form, and the list of books are on the Library’s website at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/library.  The cost to register is $10 per person.  The deadline is March 26.  Registration may fill prior to the registration close date.
