February 2, 2018 – The City of Midland will begin accepting applications on Monday, February 12 for gardening plots at the Circle Community Garden, located at the intersection of Edwin and Cambridge Streets.
New in 2018, registration will be accepted online or in person only at the Parks and Recreation Office (4811 N. Saginaw Rd., Midland). Cost for a garden plot is $25 and is non-refundable. When applying online, gardeners should create a username and password in the system prior to opening day by visiting www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/communitygarden. Plots will sell out very quickly and are sold on a first come, first served basis.
Gardeners who secure a plot in the organic garden will receive a prepared planting bed in which to grow fruits, vegetables, herbs, or flowers. Gardeners will be responsible for purchasing their own plant material, doing their own planting, and handling the summer maintenance required, including watering and weeding.
