February 16, 2018 – The Midland County Emergency Management Office, in partnership with the National Weather Service (NWS) and the Midland Amateur Radio Club (MARC), is sponsoring a free severe weather training class on Thursday, March 1 at 7 p.m. in the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library Auditorium.
During the free 90-minute training session, attendees will learn a variety of skills related to storm spotting and reporting, including the basics of thunderstorm development, fundamentals of storm structure, ways to identify potential severe weather, and basic severe weather safety.
The event is free open to the public for anyone 12 years or older. No registration is required. The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library is located at 1710 W. St. Andrews Road in Midland.
