[ARCHIVED] "Libraries Rock" Summer Reading Program at the Library

June 8, 2018 – “Libraries Rock” is the rock and roll theme of this year’s Summer Reading Program at the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library. The 2018 Summer Reading Program runs from June 11 to August 11. All ages from infants to senior citizens can participate.

Children can record their reading on logs that are available at the library. After seven days of reading for at least 20 minutes per day, they earn a prize. After completing an entire reading log, children may select a book as their final prize.  Reading logs are available at the Youth Services desk.

The teen reading program challenges teens to read 45 minutes a day. They are eligible to win prizes after each reading level. A book can be earned at the end of the program.

Adults can participate by submitting entry forms for each book read or listened to over the summer at the Library or online. Weekly drawings are held from the entries submitted for gift cards from local businesses. Audiobooks and eBooks also count towards your summer reading goals.

There are many other activities, exciting shows, fun story times, creative crafts, and free movies planned throughout the summer for the entire family. For more details, pick up our events flyer, call Youth Services at 837-3466 or the Reference Desk at 837-3449, or visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/Library.

This program is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library
