July 20, 2018 – National Geographic’s 2012 Adventurer of the Year, Jennifer Pharr Davis, is coming to the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library!
Davis is the unofficial world record holder for the fastest thru-hike across the Appalachian Trail and has hiked over 14,000 miles on six different continents. At this event, Jennifer will share her journey and the lessons she’s learned along the way about endurance and pushing both physical and mental limits beyond what she thought was possible.
Davis has written multiple books and has said of her nature adventures: “I find things in the woods that I didn’t know I was looking for…and now I’ll never be the same.” . Her latest, The Pursuit of Endurance: Harnessing the Record-Breaking Power of Strength and Resilience will be available for purchase. A book signing will be held immediately following the presentation.
This free event will be held on Thursday, August 2 at 7 p.m. in the Library Auditorium. For more information, please call 989-837-3430 or visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/library.
