[ARCHIVED] Waldo Avenue Closed at US-10 September 10

Traffic cones

September 7, 2018 – On Monday, September 10, Waldo Avenue will be closed between Wheeler Street (US-10 off-ramp) and the US-10 overpass as crews prepare for paving operations as part of the Waldo Avenue reconstruction project.

During this time, southbound though traffic on Waldo traveling from north of the US-10 interchange will be detoured using E. Wheeler Road, Rockwell Drive, and E. Ashman Street. Northbound through traffic will continue to use the posted detour.

Waldo will be open to northbound local traffic from E. Ashman to Fuller Drive during the closure; however, temporary flagging operations will be in place while the Fuller Drive intersection is being paved to allow motorists to travel as far north as Mark Twain Drive. Access to Candlestone and Brookdale assisted living facilities will remain open from Wheeler during the closure.

This closure is expected to last two days. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes during the closure if possible to avoid delays.

For more information, contact City Engineering at 989-837-3348 or view project updates at http://bit.ly/midlandroads. Updates will also be shared on the City of Midland Facebook page at facebook.com/cityofmidlandmi and on Twitter at @CityofMidlandMI.

Residents are reminded that due to the nature of construction activities, the information provided above may change at any time. Should an issue arise that would change this schedule, the City will provide updates via the methods listed above.
