[ARCHIVED] Pedestrian Bridge Construction Prompts St. Andrews Road Closure

September 21, 2018 – Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, September 24, W. St. Andrews Road will be closed from Orchard Drive to the entrance of the Michigan State University center (1910 W. St. Andrews Rd.) for approximately four weeks to facilitate construction of the Whiting Forest pedestrian bridge.

During construction, motorists should access the Library and Midland Center for the Arts from Eastman Avenue. The road is expected to reopen to vehicle traffic on Friday, October 19.

This project will add a pedestrian bridge over Snake Creek and St. Andrews Road that will begin in the wet meadow of Whiting Forest and end in the Dow Gardens’ Rose Garden. In addition, a second bridge will extend from the Library parking lot to the Whiting House at Whiting Forest.To learn more about the Whiting Forest construction project, please visit www.dowgardens.org/whitingforest.
