[ARCHIVED] "Bridge Magazine" Truth Tour at the Library

October 5, 2018 Bridge Magazine is presenting The Michigan Truth Tour at the Library in October. This statewide roadshow discusses the state's most important issues and attempts to ground the upcoming state election in facts, not fiction.

Bridge Magazine, the nonpartisan and nonprofit winner of “Michigan’s Best Newspaper” in 2016 and 2017, will bring a mobile newsroom to the Library parking lot on Wednesday, October 24 from 3 - 5 p.m. Stop by to get a free voter’s guide, pick up a toolkit for finding and fighting fake news, play some citizenship games, and grab free giveaways.

The Michigan Truth Tour includes a screening of Michigan Divided, a documentary that explores the political divisions in our state. The film follows six Michigan families during a period of divisive politics and searches for common ground among residents by attempting to answer questions such as “What can the state’s residents agree on?” and “How can we work together for a better future?”. The Michigan Divided documentary screening will be held in the Library Community Room from 6:30 - 9 p.m.

This event is free and open to all ages. For more information, call the Reference Desk at (989) 837-3449 or visit www.cityofmidland.gov/library.

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library is located at 1710 W. St. Andrews Rd and is a service of the City of Midland. Events like this one can be found in the new Adult Services monthly calendar available at the Library and online.
