[ARCHIVED] Are You Brave Enough to be “Fast Food”?

August 14, 2014 – The Midland Parks and Recreation Department will partner with the Rock Center 4 Youth Development to offer Midland’s first-ever 5K Zombie Run in City Forest.

The 5K Zombie Run will take place on Saturday, October 11 at Midland City Forest. Flights begin at 10 a.m. and go every ten minutes. Racers have two running options: choose to run the race normally; or run with flag football flags that represent vital organs and try to make it out alive! But here’s the catch… there are teenage zombies in the forest! Volunteer teens will roam the forest in herds in hopes of munching on willing participants.

Registration is going on now for this exciting event. Space is limited, so register early. The cost for this event is $25 until September 12 and $35 beginning September 13. Registration will take place at the City of Midland Parks and Recreation Office, 4811 N. Saginaw Road, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or online at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/recreation. There is a convenience fee to register online. Racers will receive a free t-shirt and a special token depending on their fate in the race.

Questions may be directed to Parks and Recreation by calling 989-837-6930 or e-mailing the office at recreation@midland-mi.org.
