[ARCHIVED] Meet the Presidents at the Library: Richard Nixon

November 30, 2018 – This fall, the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library has explored the lives and legacies of four of the nation’s most notable presidents to learn how each faced the leadership challenges of their time in what is arguably the hardest job in the world.

On Thursday, December 6 at 7 p.m., Dr. Mitchell Hall from Central Michigan University will present the final lecture in the series on the presidency of Richard Nixon. History buffs might remember when Nixon said “I am not a crook” as the Watergate scandal enveloped him; however, whether he was a crook or a victim of the times, Nixon was a complicated figure who was both brilliant and tragically flawed. Dr. Hall will help us understand how Nixon’s personality and the politics of the day led him on the road to Watergate.

All presentations in the “Meet the Presidents” series are free and open to all ages. They will be held at 7 p.m. in the Library Auditorium. For more information on the “Meet the Presidents” lecture series, please contact the Reference Desk at 837-3449 or visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/library. Events like this one may be found in the new Adult Services monthly calendar available at the library.

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library is located at 1710 W. St. Andrews Rd. The Library is a service of the City of Midland.Meet the Presidents at the Library: Richard Nixon
