December 4, 2018 – With the late leaf fall and early winter weather experienced this year, the City’s Department of Public Services has decided to provide an additional round of leaf collection for all areas of the city.
Crews will begin the final round of curbside leaf collection on Monday, December 10 in Area B, then moving to Areas C, D, and A. Leaf collection is expected to be completed by Friday, December 14.
Once final collection has been completed in your area, no leaves can be placed in the street. Any remaining leaves or yard waste should be placed into Kraft paper compost bags or City of Midland yard waste bins and set at the curb on your refuse collection day. Yard waste collection for bags and bins will also end on Friday, December 14th.
The 40-cent yard waste collection stickers are not required on bags or bins for the remainder of the 2018 collection season. The City will resume yard waste collection on the first Monday in April 2019.
Please note that if yard waste becomes frozen in a bin it cannot be emptied by City equipment. Residents may want to consider keeping yard waste bins in their garage if possible to help prevent freezing.
