[ARCHIVED] City of Midland Hours for 2018 Christmas, New Year's Holidays

December 7, 2018 – All City of Midland offices will be closed Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25 in recognition of the Christmas holiday and Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in recognition of the New Year's holiday.

Residents with Monday, December 24 refuse and Monday Week 4 recycling collection should place items at the curb on Friday, December 21.  Residents with Tuesday, December 25 refuse and Tuesday Week 4 recycling collection should place items at the curb on Wednesday, December 26.  Residents with Tuesday, January 1 refuse collection should place items at the curb on Wednesday, January 2. Place items at the curb no later than 7:30 a.m. to ensure collection. There is no recycling collection for the week of December 31 – January 4.

The City’s Sanitary Landfill will be open from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Monday, December 24 and will hold special post-holiday hours on Saturday, December 29 from 8:30 a.m. – noon. The Landfill will be closed on Christmas Day.

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library be closed on Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25. The Library will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, December 31 and will be closed on Tuesday, January 1.

Dial-A-Ride Transportation service (DART) will close at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, December 24 and will be closed on Tuesday, December 25; and Tuesday, January 1. All other days and hours of operation will remain as normal for both phone and bus service hours.

Jack Barstow Municipal Airport will be unattended Monday, December 24; Tuesday, December 25; and Tuesday, January 1.

Midland Civic Arena will be closed Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25.  Go to www.midlandcivicarena.com for a complete public skating schedule.                                       

Midland City Forest will be closed Christmas Day. Go to www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/cityforest for updates on when the Chalet will be open for toboggan, sled, ski, snowshoe and skate rentals, and for weather conditions relating to other outdoor activities.
