January 11, 2019 – The fifth annual Adult Battle of the Books is here! Registration has begun for teams who would like to participate in the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library’s Battle of the Books for adults. Space is limited to 11 teams with 3-5 players per team.
The battle will take place on Friday, April 12 at 7 p.m. on the Library Mezzanine. This fun competition requires contestants to read five specific books before the battle date. Teams will answer trivia questions about the books and how they relate to each other.
The 2019 Adult Battle of the Books Reading List includes:
- Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
- The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal
- The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien
- Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly
- Artemis by Andy Weir
The books are available for checkout at the Library.
The rules, official entry form, and the list of books are on the Library’s website at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/library. Registration fees are $10 per person and the deadline to register is April 1. Registration may fill prior to the registration close date, so act quickly!
