[ARCHIVED] New Cameras and Editing at MCTV

September 5, 2014 – Midland Community Television is now offering training on new cameras and editing equipment.

Five JVC HD cameras were purchased with a $25,000 grant from the Friends of MCTV. These cameras will be used by MCTV’s access users and staff out in the community. MCTV also bought three new Apple iMac computers with Final Cut Pro X editing software.

Two sessions are all you’ll need to learn the ropes and start creating your own videos. The next orientation/studio workshop is Saturday, September 13, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., followed by a class on the new cameras and editing on Saturday, September 20, from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Workshops will also be held in October and November.

The fee for training is $20. The annual access user fee is $25. Workshops are open to anyone living in Midland County or persons acting on behalf of a non-profit in the county.

The Friends of MCTV was formed to raise financial support and awareness of the services provided by Midland’s cable access TV channels.

MCTV is located on the lower level of the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library, 1710 W. St. Andrews Road in Midland. For more information, call 989-837-3474 or go to: www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/mctv.
