[ARCHIVED] City Joins Keep America Beautiful Network

April 5, 2019 – The City of Midland is pleased to announce that it has joined the affiliate network of Keep America Beautiful, the nation’s leading community improvement nonprofit organization, with the certification of the Keep Midland Beautiful program earlier this week.

The program has three key impact goals: to end littering, improve recycling, and beautify the community.  By utilizing public education, research, and behavioral science, Keep America Beautiful and its affiliates seek to improve and beautify communities by promoting positive behavior changes that have a lasting impact on the environment.

“The goals of the Keep America Beautiful organization fit seamlessly into our robust existing beautification efforts,” said Midland mayor Maureen Donker. “The Keep Midland Beautiful initiative is the next step in our city’s commitment to making a positive impact both in our community and on our environment, and we invite our residents, businesses, and partners to join us in making that happen.”

Keep Midland Beautiful will join more than 600 Keep America Beautiful affiliates, including 26 state affiliates and a number of international affiliates. It is the fourth affiliate in Michigan.

More details on specific initiatives for Keep Midland Beautiful will be shared as they become available.
