May 31, 2019 – Join Midland Parks and Recreation and members of the Midland community to relieve stress, shed pounds, and just have fun during weekly strolls with Walk Midland this summer!
Walk Midland hosts two-mile walks at six walking locations in Midland each week. Walks are free of charge and take place on Sundays at the Tridge (meet at the foot near the Farmers Market); Mondays at City Forest (meet at the trail head); Tuesdays at Stratford Park (meet near the beach volleyball courts); Wednesdays at Chippewa Nature Center (meet at the pavilion); Thursdays at MidMichigan Medical Center (meet at the corner of McCandless and Wellness Drive); Fridays at the East End Building (meet on the south side at the paved path). The program starts on Monday, June 3 and concludes on Thursday, August 8. There will be no walk on Thursday, July 4.
All walks begin at 6 p.m. with representatives from sponsoring organizations leading the walks. Participation is free and open to everyone!
Each time walkers participate, they will be registered in a drawing for a free t-shirt. In addition, there will be a drawing on Thursday, August 8 for a grand prize trip for two to the Jazzy Walk Weekend at Mackinac Island’s Grand Hotel over the Labor Day weekend, which includes a walk across the Mackinac Bridge during the Governor’s Walk.
Walk Michigan is sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, Chippewa Nature Center, Dow Health Services and MidMichigan Health.
