[ARCHIVED] Motorists Advised of Busy Traffic Weekend in Mall Area

Lines on an asphalt road

May 31, 2019 – Local motorists are encouraged to drive with caution and seek alternate routes in the Midland Mall area this weekend as the Michigan Antiques Festival draws visitors into the Midland County Fairgrounds on Eastman Avenue on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2.

Police will monitor the area to ensure that traffic is moving near the Eastman Avenue and US-10 interchange; however, motorists should plan for traffic delays.

The main exit from the Midland Mall will be closed from 9 p.m. on Friday, May 31 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 2. The traffic light at this intersection will remain operational to allow for pedestrian crosswalk movements. Midland Police Department may also prohibit left turn and thru traffic movements out of the Olive Garden exit onto Eastman if traffic conditions warrant.

Local residents are asked to seek alternate routes when travelling in these areas.
