[ARCHIVED] Second Phase of Main/Jerome Intersection Reconstruction Begins June 13

June 6, 2019 – Beginning Thursday, June 13, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin removing and rebuilding the southern side of the intersection of Main Street with Jerome Street/M-20  as a part of the Karl B. Robertson (M-20) Bridge reconstruction project.

For approximately 14 days, MDOT will close the northern side of the intersection of Main Street and Jerome Street/M-20 to through traffic. Southbound through traffic on Main Street should utilize a detour route using Auburn Street, Buttles Street, and Ashman Street, while northbound through traffic should utilize a detour route using Rodd Street, Indian Street, and Jerome Street. Motorists heading south on Main Street will be able to turn right or left onto M-20.

The intersection is expected to fully reopen to traffic by June 27, 2019. Reconstruction of the northern side of the intersection was completed in November 2018.
