[ARCHIVED] City Parks & Recreation Announces July 4th Celebrations

Giant fireworks shoot into the night sky

June 20, 2019 – Enjoy July 4th festivities, but leave the fireworks to us! Join the City of Midland Parks and Recreation Department as it produces the area’s greatest display of fireworks and entertainment.

The year’s Independence Day celebration will be held at Dow Diamond. The event includes music from Atomic Radio, metro-Detroit’s premier pop cover band! Atomic Radio will rock out on the front lawn of the Dow Diamond at 8 p.m. Vendors will be on-hand with your favorite food and beverages and bounce houses will be on site to keep the kids entertained.  Bring your friends, family, and your lawn chairs and blankets to the event of the summer.

At dusk, you can expect the crown jewel of the evening – the annual Fourth of July fireworks, which can be viewed from the outside grounds of Dow Diamond, Founders Park, Whiting Overlook Park, and other downtown locations.

For the safety and enjoyment of all spectators, personal fireworks like sparklers, firecrackers, and other items will be prohibited in City parks.  As an additional safety measure, please consider leaving your pets at home while you enjoy the fireworks event.  Police officers will patrol the parks during the fireworks spectacular.

For more information, visit us online at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/july4th or contact the Midland Parks and Recreation Department at 989-837-6930 or email them at recreation@midland-mi.org.
