[ARCHIVED] Main Street Glow, Riverdays After Party in Downtown Midland

July 18, 2019 – Downtown Midland’s Main Street is the place to be during the first weekend in August as two exciting events come together for free, family-friendly fun!

On Thursday, August 1, Midland Balloon Festival lights up the streets of Downtown Midland with the burners of hot air balloons. Guests can visit from 6:30 – 8 p.m. to view the lit burners and participate in a trading card scavenger hunt featuring their favorite hot air balloons.

Riverdays After Party turns Main Street into a giant dance floor between Ashman and McDonald streets on Friday, August 2 beginning at 9 p.m. Live music will be provided by Slick Jimmy, one of Michigan’s premier 80s rock bands that combines powerful vocal abilities with professional musicianship. Outdoor beverage service will be provided by downtown establishments Diamond Jim’s and Oscar’s Bar & Grill. Patrons must be 21 and older to enter the two outdoor service areas, but all ages are invited to enjoy the party on Main Street.

Both events are free and open to the public. No tickets are required.

Riverdays takes place in the Farmers Market area of Downtown Midland August 1 – 3, 2019, while Midland Balloon Festival can be found in Chippewassee Park August 2 – 4, 2019.
