[ARCHIVED] Currie Parkway Bridge Reopens to Eastbound Traffic Only

Currie Bridge

July 23, 2019 – The City of Midland has announced that the historic Currie Parkway Bridge has been repaired following damage sustained due to excessive and overweight vehicle usage in November 2018.

At this time, the Currie Parkway Bridge will be open to eastbound vehicle traffic only. Motorists traveling from the direction of the Currie Municipal Golf Course will be permitted to cross the bridge and turn right or left onto Main Street. Right and left turns onto Currie Parkway from Main Street are prohibited. This restriction is expected to remain in place at minimum through the completion of the Karl B. Robertson (M-20) Bridge construction later this fall.

One-way traffic will be strictly enforced by the Midland Police Department. Motorists who attempt to turn right or left onto the Currie Parkway Bridge from Main Street will be ticketed.

For more information, contact City Engineering at 989-837-3348. Updates will be shared on the City of Midland Facebook page at facebook.com/cityofmidlandmi and on Twitter at @CityofMidlandMI.
