August 19, 2019 – Crews from Treeworks, Inc. will be working in Barstow Woods Park to remove over 300 dead and hazard trees beginning today, August 19.
At this time, Barstow Woods will be closed from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday through Friday through the completion of the project. The woods will be open on Saturdays and Sundays and will be open after 7 p.m. on weekdays. The park and pavilion area located off of Manor Drive will remain open including the Barstow Woods playground, bathrooms, and pavilion.
Due to the nature of this activity, residents are cautioned that work in the park may be loud and produce a significant amount of debris. The parking lot located off of Saginaw Road may be also closed to facilitate work if needed.
Wood chips from the removed trees will be made available at the Central Park parking lot for residents’ personal use at no cost. Plans to replant new trees in Barstow Woods Park will be announced at a later date.
