August 29, 2019 – The final phase of the Downtown Midland streetscape renovation is slated to begin on Wednesday, September 4. The “Main Street Plaza” project will include road resurfacing; updated sidewalks, lighting, and landscaping amenities; and a public gathering space.
During construction, Main Street will be closed to thru traffic from Cronkright Street to about 170 feet east of the Poseyville Road Bridge. Cronkright will be closed to thru traffic from Main to Larkin Streets.
Driveway access to Ace Hardware via Main Street will remain open; however, access to parking lots located at Riverside Place Apartments and the East End building will be restricted. Motorists should access the East End parking lots by using the Ellsworth Street entrance.
The project is expected to be completed in mid-November 2019.
