[ARCHIVED] Surface Treatment Program Set for Major and Local Streets

September 26, 2014 – Weather permitting, slurry seal or micro-surfacing will be applied to Midland roads beginning Monday, September 29.

Major streets affected include Joseph, Elisenal, Discovery, and Rodd streets. Work on the major streets will be complete by October 8. Local (less-traveled) streets are expected to be completed by October 10.

The process is part of the City of Midland’s annual surface treatment program. The program helps extend the life of streets at a much lower cost than street reconstruction. A list of streets involved can be found on the City of Midland website, at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/engineering.

With the 2014 construction season still in progress, motorists are encouraged to sign up for weekly and last-minute construction updates by subscribing to City Hall News on the City’s website at http://www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/communications. Motorists may also check the construction updates page on the City’s website for construction information.

Contact the City’s Engineering Department at 989-837-3348 with any questions.
