October 8, 2019 – Fire Prevention Week in Midland is October 6 – 12. In conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, the Midland Fire Department will hold its annual Fire Prevention open house on Saturday, October 12 from 1 – 4 p.m.
The open house will be held at Fire Station One, located at 816 E. Haley Street. During the event, the community is invited to enjoy refreshments, tour the fire station and view its equipment, learn how to plan for and practice fire drills, and view fire safety exhibits. A drawing for a children’s bicycle is planned for the event.
Also during Fire Prevention Week, the department will join forces with the nonprofit National Fire Protection Association to focus on this year’s theme, “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape”. The campaign works to educate everyone about the small but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.
