October 22, 2014 – A project to replace the remaining original windows in the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library has begun.
Construction crews have begun building a temporary wall in the Quiet Room, which overlooks the Japanese Garden. This room features floor to ceiling windows. For patrons, access to that area may be limited.
The project also includes replacement of the windows in the public computer area on the first floor, the Local History and Genealogy Room, and the story room on the lower level. The windows date back to when the library was built in the 1950s.
The project is expected to be completed in late November. It’s funded by a grant from The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation.
For more information, call 989-837-3430 or check out the Library’s website at: www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/library. Project updates will be posted on the Library’s Facebook page.
The Library is located at 1710 W. St. Andrews Road in Midland.
