[ARCHIVED] Currie Municipal Golf Course Manager Named “General Manager of the Year”

March 20, 2020 – The City of Midland is pleased to announce that Currie Municipal Golf Course General Manager and Director of Operations Paul Milholland has been named the 2019 Central Region General Manager of the Year by Billy Casper Golf (BCG).

The award, presented during BCG’s annual meeting in Orlando, Florida in early March, is given to the course general manager who serves as the model for others to emulate and exhibits ‘above and beyond’ performance in all areas of facility management, staff development, guest experience, and revenue growth. Currie Municipal Golf Course is one of 17 courses in BCG’s Central Region.

A PGA professional, Milholland has served as Currie’s general manager since 2008 and possesses over 40 years of experience managing golf operations.

“Paul’s extensive golf knowledge and outstanding operations management make him a deserving recipient of this award,” said City Manager Brad Kaye. “We are incredibly proud of Paul for his recognition and are grateful for his commitment and dedication to making Currie Golf Course a fun and enjoyable destination for all guests.”

In addition to this recognition, Currie and its staff were nominated for several other awards in its region, including Superintendent of the Year (Jerome Blahnik), Most Improved Golf Course of the Year, Most Improved Facility of the Year, the BCG Top Performer Award, and Facility of the Year.

Currie Municipal Golf Course is owned by the City of Midland and managed by Billy Casper Golf. For more information or to schedule a tee time, visit www.curriegolf.com.
