[ARCHIVED] Reminder: Yard Waste Collection Postponed Through April 13

April 3, 2020 – With all non-essential City services suspended through Monday, April 13, 2020 under Executive Order 2020-21 (“Stay Home, Stay Safe”) issued by Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Monday, March 23, 2020, residents are reminded that the City’s annual yard waste collection will not begin on Monday, April 6 as previously scheduled.

At this time, City yard waste collection and brush collection are postponed through Monday, April 13. This date is subject to change as dependent upon future executive orders and/or a reassessment of current conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Residents are asked not to place yard waste bags and bins or brush at the curb until collection begins.

Due to building closures at the Municipal Service Center and City Hall, residents cannot purchase stickers or bins in person at City facilities. Yard waste bag stickers are available for purchase at local retailers including Ace Hardware, Family Fare, Gilroy’s Hardware, Kroger, Lowe’s, and Meijer. Residents may purchase a City yard waste bin and bin stickers by completing the appropriate form(s) located online at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/yardwaste and mailing the form and payment to City Hall, 333 W. Ellsworth Street, Midland, MI 48640 or by placing the form and payment inside the secure drop box located inside the front doors of City Hall. New bins will not be delivered until City services resume as normal.

The City will continue to monitor public health information regarding COVID-19 and will reassess and alter its response as needed.

All City offices and buildings and non-essential City services are closed to the public through April 13, 2020 as outlined by Executive Order 2020-21 (“Stay Home, Stay Safe”) issued by Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Monday, March 23. For a list of service changes related to this order, please visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/coronavirus.
