April 17, 2020 – In an effort to support downtown businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Midland Downtown Development Authority has launched a limited-time stimulus program that will raise up to $87,500 for business in the district.

The Raise Up Downtown program allows supporters to purchase $25 electronic gift cards from downtown retailers, restaurants, and personal service providers whose operations were temporarily closed or adversely impacted by Executive Order 2020-42 (“Stay Home, Stay Safe”) or other executive orders and public health directives issued during the COVID-19 pandemic. The DDA will add an additional $10 to every $25 gift card purchased, giving supporters a total of $35 to spend at their chosen downtown business.

To purchase a gift card, patrons can visit www.downtownmidland.com/raise-up and select their gift card(s) from a list of participating businesses. The program will offer 2,500 gift cards for purchase available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All gift cards are electronic and will be usable at the purchaser’s selected downtown business after June 1, 2020.

For more information on the Raise Up Downtown gift card stimulus program or to lend your support, visit www.downtownmidland.com/raise-up.
