[ARCHIVED] City Senior Living Communities Closed to Visitors through May 31

May 7, 2020 – In accordance with Executive Order 2020-72 issued by Governor Gretchen Whitmer on May 3, 2020, City of Midland senior living communities Washington Woods and Riverside Place will remain closed to non-essential visitors through Sunday, May 31.

Essential care providers who assist with medical care and activities of daily living such as bathing, laundry, cleaning, and cooking are permitted access to buildings. All staff and caregivers are required to wear a facial covering when indoors and must practice proper social distancing guidelines as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Essential care needs should be performed by phone or via electronic methods if possible.

During this time, all social programs and activities have been cancelled on both campuses. Social visits to residents are prohibited. Residents may leave their apartments and the campuses at any time, but must abide by the conditions of all current executive orders and public health directives when doing so.

Caregivers and families may contact the front office of each location by phone at 989-837-3494 (Washington Woods) or 989-837-3535 (Riverside Place) with questions or for more information.

The City will continue to monitor public health information regarding COVID-19 and will reassess and alter its response as needed. For a complete list of current City service changes and facilities closures, please visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/coronavirus.
