May 21, 2020 – Following a closure due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Midland Sanitary Landfill will reopen to residential customers beginning Saturday, May 23 to drop off flooding debris and yard waste.
On Saturday, May 23, the Landfill will be open its regular hours from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. and will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. The Landfill will then resume its regular operating hours, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. thereafter.
Customers accessing the Landfill will be required to show proof of Midland County residency. Debris from residents located outside of Midland County will not be accepted.
Landfill employees will be following current COVID-19 social distancing measures for the safety of all customers, including limiting person-to-person contact at gatehouse and delineating proper space for each customer to use at the dumpsters. The City asks Landfill customers to please respect the safety of employees and other Landfill patrons by practicing social distancing at the dump site.
Due to the high anticipated volume of customers accessing the Landfill, wait times may be significant. Please be patient as services resume.
