Heavy Item & Brush Collection Resume June 22 in Area D

June 17, 2020 – Following a brief hiatus due to flood debris collection, the City of Midland will resume regular heavy item and brush collection in Area D on Monday, June 22. Collection will then resume its normal schedule: No collection the week of June 29; collection in Area A beginning Monday, July 6; collection in Area B beginning Monday, July 13, and collection in Area C beginning Monday, July 20.

Brush collection includes logs, cut branches, tree trimmings, and other brush in lengths less than eight (8) feet. To prepare brush for collection, please remember the following rules:

  • Brush piles should be no longer than eight (8) feet in length
  • Piles should be set one (1) foot apart
  • Piles should not contain any non-brush items or refuse
  • Piles should not be placed near poles, trees, mailboxes, wires, or other obstacles as this impedes proper collection.

Heavy items and brush items should be placed separately at the curb and can be placed at the curb no earlier than the Saturday preceding a resident’s scheduled collection week. Items should be at the curb by 7:30 a.m. on the Monday of residents’ scheduled week in order to receive collection.

For more information on City of Midland collection services or to find your collection schedules, please visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/publicservices. Residents can find all of the City’s collection schedules, as well as set email and mobile alert reminders, by using the free Recycle Coach™ app available on mobile from the iTunes Store and Google Play or online at www.recyclecoach.com. Collection schedules are also provided in the annual City Calendar & Services Guide that is mailed to City residents and businesses each December.
