September 1, 2020 – The City of Midland is pleased to announce the hiring of Tom Wyatt as the City’s new community development planner.
In this role, Wyatt will serve as the administrator of the Community Development Block Grant program, staff liaison to the City Housing Commission, and will assist in matters relating to zoning, site planning, and master planning.
Wyatt comes to the City from Kettering University, where he served as the director of neighborhood and community services. He possesses extensive experience in neighborhood planning, grant management, and community engagement and has previously served in roles with Genessee County Habitat for Humanity and the Salvation Army. Wyatt holds a bachelor’s degree in urban planning from Arizona State University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Southern California. He is a graduate of Grand Blanc High School in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
“Tom’s extensive experience, knowledge, and passion for public service make him the perfect addition to our team,” said City Director of Planning and Community Development Grant Murschel. “We are very much looking forward to his engaging with residents and the many planning and community development projects going on in the city.”
