October 1, 2020 – Midland Fire Department asks residents to “Serve Up Fire Safety in the Kitchen” during Fire Prevention Week in Midland October 4 – 10 by learning about and practicing fire safety in the kitchen.
To celebrate Fire Prevention Week, the Midland Fire Department has created a video series to help residents learn about fire safety in the kitchen. Topics in the video series include safe cooking tips; best practices for safely using microwaves, ovens, and other cooking appliances; what to do if a kitchen fire occurs; and more. Videos can be viewed on the following channels:
A new video will be released each day during Fire Prevention Week, so residents should check back daily for the next installment.
In accordance with the City’s current COVID-19 pandemic response, the annual Fire Prevention Week open house previously scheduled for Saturday, October 10 at Fire Station One has been cancelled.
