November 18, 2020 – With the 2020 election cycle now over, residents are reminded that all election signage must be removed from both residential and commercial properties in accordance with the City of Midland’s zoning ordinance.
Per Article 8 of the City’s zoning ordinance, all election signage placed in the ground or on a wall in support of a candidate or ballot initiative must be removed within 14 days of an election. This article does not regulate flags or decorations.
A civil infraction citation may be issued for violations of the above ordinance. First offenses result in a $50 fine; the second offense would be a $250 fine; and the third and subsequent offenses would cost $500 for each day that signs are in violation of the City ordinance.
