[ARCHIVED] City of Midland Closings for Christmas and New Year's Holidays

All City of Midland offices will close Wednesday, December 24 and Thursday, December 25 in recognition of the Christmas holiday and Thursday, January 1 in recognition of the New Year's holiday.

Residents with Wednesday, December 24 refuse and Week 4 recycling collection should place items at the curb on Tuesday, December 23. Residents with Thursday, December 25 refuse and Week 4 recycling collection should place items at the curb on Friday, December 26. Residents with Thursday, January 1 refuse collection should place items at the curb on Friday, January 2. Place items at the curb no later than 7:30 a.m. to ensure collection.

The City’s Sanitary Landfill will be open from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, as well as 8:30 a.m. – Noon on Saturdays, December 27 and January 3.

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library will be closed Wednesday, December 24; Thursday, December 25; and Thursday, January 1. The Library will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31.

Dial-A-Ride Transportation service (DART) will be closed Wednesday, December 24; Thursday, December 25; and Thursday, January 1. DART will operate normal service hours December 26-30. DART will provide bus service Wednesday, December 31 from 6:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; phone service hours will be from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Jack Barstow Municipal Airport will be unattended Wednesday, December 24; Thursday, December 25; and Thursday, January 1.

The Midland Civic Arena will be closed Wednesday, December 24 and Thursday, December 25. Go to www.midlandcivicarena.com for a holiday schedule.

Midland City Forest will be closed Christmas Day. Go to www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/recreation for updates on when the Chalet will be open for toboggan, ski, and skate rentals, and for weather conditions relating to other outdoor activities.
