December 11, 2020 – Looking to make a difference in the Midland community? The City of Midland invites you to apply for open positions on the City’s Housing Commission or Planning Commission.

Housing Commission
- One citizen-at-large position with a term expiring June 30, 2022
The Housing Commission advises City staff and the City Manager regarding areas of the city where it is necessary to provide proper sanitary housing facilities for families of low income and for the elimination of housing conditions that are detrimental to the public peace, health, safety, morals or welfare. This commission meets quarterly on the first Monday of the month at 3 p.m.

Planning Commission
- One citizen-at-large position with a term expiring June 30, 2023
The Planning Commission is responsible for overseeing the City's master plan, conducting public hearings, and offering recommendations to the City Council on a wide range of local land use issues including site plans for new developments, zoning law amendments, and various land divisions. This commission meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month at 7 p.m.

Paper applications are available from the City Manager’s Office at City Hall, 333 W. Ellsworth St. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 31.
Applicants must be a City of Midland resident. No previous experience or professional experience is required to serve; however, applicants must be able to attend the scheduled meetings. Any applicants who have previously applied for a board or commission vacancy are asked to submit a new application.
