[ARCHIVED] MCTV Honors 2020 Media Creators at Virtual Honors Night

January 8, 2021 – In accordance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, MCTV cancelled its annual Honors Night recognition banquet in November 2020 – but staff is still celebrating the community members who created local content via a new virtual event.

Each year, the MCTV (Midland Community Television) Network recognizes the individuals and organizations that utilize community media to create original, hyper-local programming on its networks. To recognize 2020’s MCTV access users in a safe manner, staff developed a “virtual Honors Night” newscast to highlight many of the community programs created in 2020.

Interested viewers can watch the video on Charter Spectrum channels 188-191, AT&T U-Verse channel 99, or view on the MCTV Network Community Voices YouTube channel at

“MCTV staff thanks its media creators who put the ‘community’ in ‘community media’ this year,” said MCTV Manager Matt Richardson. “While 2020 kept us apart, our users created programming that remind us we can still share in the joys, the victories, and the peace that we enjoy together.”

MCTV Network channels can be viewed on Charter Spectrum channels 189-191 and AT&T U-verse channel 99. Many programs can also be found online by searching ‘MCTV Community Voices’ on YouTube channel or enjoyed as audio-only podcasts by searching ‘MCTV Network’ on the preferred podcast platform.

To learn more about the MCTV Network, follow MCTV on Facebook, visit, or search for MCTV Network Community Voices on YouTube or the podcast platform of choice. The MCTV Network is a service of the City of Midland.
