[ARCHIVED] City Announces Spring/Summer 2021 Construction Schedule

Orange traffic cones on a blue sky

February 19, 2021 – The City of Midland Engineering Department is ramping up for another busy construction season in 2021 with a variety of street reconstruction, resurfacing, and water main replacement projects on this year’s list.

Planned high-traffic improvements include street reconstruction and water main replacement projects on E. Wheeler Street from Swede Avenue to US-10 and Sturgeon Avenue from N. Saginaw Road to W. Wackerly Street and a street resurfacing project on S. Saginaw Road from E. Patrick Road to Dartmouth Drive. Additional streets seeing reconstruction projects include State Street, Reardon Street, Greenbrier Terrace, Dartmouth Court, and W. St. Andrews Street from Eastman Avenue to the Midland Country Club.

In addition, a new water main installation project will take place in the Lyon/Patrick greenbelt area between E. Carpenter Street and Bayliss Street. This project does not involve street work.

The City anticipates street and lane closures during projects, and detours will be posted if necessary. A complete list of 2021 City projects and their estimated months of start and completion is below.
